UEA Surgical Society Presents Trauma Conference

The UEA Surgical Society is proud to host 2012 National Trauma Conference taking place on the 3rd and 4th of March 2012 and costs £35 for UEA surgical society members, and £40 for non-members. Lunch and refreshments are included.

All attendees will take part in a full pre-hospital trauma simulation on the Sunday which will give the chance to practice skills learnt over the weekend. This is unique to a student conference and promises to be an excellent experience.
There will also be 5 lectures, given by experts in their areas:
  • Guest Lecture: Professor Sam Leinster, Emeritus Professor of Medicine, UEA
  • Major Accident Management: Tony Press, Norfolk Accident Rescue Service Chairman.
  • Key Note Lecture: From Bastion to Birmingham - Lesson Learnt & Future Aspirations By Professor Sir Keith Porter, Consultant Traumatologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
  • Primary and Secondary Survey: Chris Neil, Advanced Paramedic
  • Major Trauma Surgery Case Presentation: Ben Davis, Consultant Trauma Surgeon, NNUH.
The rest of the weekend will take the form of small group seminars. Please follow this link for further information: http://ueasurgicalsociety.org.uk/conference/conference.htm. Please book early to avoid disappointment as places are limited and allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis.
